His Eminence, Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche entered parinirvana one week ago. What he accomplished in one human lifetime is beyond words. His presence was and remains one of the brightest stars in the sky of dharma. I offer this poem as a humble expression of the gifts I received from his teachings and presence.
Nothing lies above the stars. Buddhahood holds a higher view.
Nothing is brighter than the sun. Self-nature outshines it.
Nothing is harder than a diamond. Adamantine awareness outlasts it.
Nothing is deeper than the ocean. Enlightened nature is bottomless.
Nothing is more firm than the earth. Only suchness is unshakable.
Nothing is more vast than space. A compassionate heart contains it.
Come to a decision and rest in suchness. There is nothing to accomplish beyond this.
